We are looking for a Payroll Administrator to oversee accurate and timely payroll operations for employees in Doylestown, Pennsylvania. This position plays an important role in maintaining compliant payroll processes, safeguarding sensitive employee information, and supporting smooth coordination across payroll, finance, and human resources. The ideal candidate brings strong technical payroll knowledge, attention to detail, and the ability to manage reporting and reconciliation responsibilities with consistency and professionalism.
Job Responsibility
Administer end-to-end payroll processing for faculty, staff, and student employees, ensuring wages are issued correctly and on schedule
Review and maintain payroll records, including hours worked, deductions, tax withholding details, and related system data with a high level of accuracy
Produce and reconcile payroll reports, confirming payroll accounts align with general ledger records and resolving discrepancies promptly
Support payroll tax compliance by assisting with filings, year-end documents, and other required federal, state, and local reporting activities
Strengthen payroll operations by refining procedures and internal controls that improve accuracy, compliance, and efficiency
Protect the confidentiality of employee compensation and payroll information maintained within payroll systems and records
Partner with finance and human resources teams to verify employee data, benefits deductions, and payroll-related reporting details
Complete additional payroll and administrative tasks as needed to support departmental operations
Requirements
At least 2 years of payroll processing experience, with prior experience in a higher education environment considered an advantage
Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or a related discipline preferred
equivalent relevant experience will also be considered
Demonstrated experience managing full-cycle payroll, including multi-state payroll processing for employee populations ranging from approximately 101 to 500 employees
Working knowledge of payroll laws and regulations at the federal, state, and local levels
Proficiency with Microsoft Office, especially Excel, and experience using payroll platforms such as ADP Workforce Now or comparable systems
Strong numerical skills, careful attention to detail, and the ability to stay organized while handling multiple deadlines
Effective communication and customer service abilities, with a thoughtful approach to responding to payroll-related questions
Proven ability to handle confidential payroll and employee information with sound judgment and discretion
