We are looking for a Payroll Administrator to join a team in Ohio in a contract-to-permanent capacity. This position is ideal for a detail-oriented payroll specialist with experience managing end-to-end payroll operations across multiple states while ensuring accuracy, compliance, and timely processing. The role will support a workforce of more than 2000+ employees and requires strong knowledge of union payroll practices, local tax requirements, and payroll systems such as Viewpoint Spectrum.
Job Responsibility:
Process full-cycle payroll for a multi-state employee population, ensuring wages, deductions, and tax withholdings are calculated accurately and paid on schedule
Administer payroll for a workforce exceeding 500 employees while maintaining detailed records and resolving discrepancies in a timely manner
Apply union payroll rules, including contract-specific pay requirements, benefit deductions, and related reporting obligations
Review and manage local, state, and federal tax withholdings to support compliance with applicable payroll regulations across jurisdictions
Maintain and update employee payroll information within Viewpoint Spectrum, ensuring data integrity and proper documentation
Investigate payroll issues, respond to employee inquiries, and work with internal partners to correct processing errors or payment concerns
Prepare payroll reports, reconcile payroll data, and support audits or internal reviews as needed
Assist with payroll-related process updates and system-related changes when required to improve efficiency and accuracy.
Requirements:
At least 3 years of payroll administration experience, including ownership of end-to-end payroll processing
Demonstrated experience handling payroll across multiple states with a strong understanding of varying tax requirements
Background supporting payroll for employee populations of 500 or more
Working knowledge of union payroll practices and related compliance considerations
Hands-on experience using Viewpoint Spectrum for payroll processing or payroll administration tasks
Familiarity with local tax calculations, filings, and payroll compliance standards
Strong attention to detail, organizational skills, and the ability to manage sensitive payroll information confidentially.
