Job Description:

Robert Half is partnering with a well established but fast growing New Orleans industrial services company in search of a dedicated Payroll Administrator. In this role, you will be responsible for managing payroll operations, ensuring accurate processing, and supporting accounting functions. This position requires strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and a commitment to delivering exceptional service in a fast-paced environment.

Job Responsibility:

  • Process payroll using Viewpoint Vista software, ensuring accurate time reporting and wage calculations
  • Audit, analyze, and reconcile payroll data for assigned employee groups, resolving discrepancies promptly
  • Prepare and submit certified payroll reports on a weekly basis
  • Manage paycheck adjustments and ensure compliance with tax withholdings, deductions, and garnishments
  • Set up new hires in the time tracking system and maintain fringe templates
  • Track and approve federal paid sick leave requests, including auditing accrual balances
  • Collaborate with the Controller on payroll tax reporting, balance sheet reconciliations, and inventory management
  • Generate ad-hoc payments as needed and assist with special payroll-related projects

Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business, or a related field a plus but not required
  • At least 3 years of experience processing in house payroll
  • Certification in payroll management or a related credential is a plus
  • Proficient in Excel functions
  • Strong communication skills with the ability to interact effectively across all levels of the organization
  • Proven ability to meet deadlines and resolve complex payroll issues independently
  • Experience in handling confidential information with discretion and sensitivity
  • Tech-savvy with expertise in payroll systems and software
