We are seeking a detail-oriented Payroll Administrator to support our client with accurate and timely payroll operations within a higher education environment in Doylestown, PA. This contract role will oversee end-to-end payroll processing for a diverse employee population, ensure compliance with applicable tax and wage regulations, and maintain the confidentiality of sensitive employee information. This position partners closely with Finance and Human Resources to ensure payroll data, deductions, and reporting are accurate, complete, and aligned with institutional policies.
Job Responsibility:
Manage full-cycle payroll processing for faculty, staff, and student workers
Review and validate timekeeping records, employee deductions, tax withholdings, and related payroll inputs
Prepare, analyze, and reconcile payroll reports
Support payroll tax compliance by assisting with filings, monitoring regulatory requirements, and preparing year-end documents including W-2 reporting
Enhance payroll processes by identifying opportunities to improve procedures and strengthen internal controls
Maintain organized and secure payroll records while safeguarding confidential employee and institutional data
Collaborate with Human Resources and Finance to ensure accuracy of employee records, benefits deductions, and payroll-related reporting
Provide support for payroll inquiries from faculty, staff, and student employees
Assist with additional payroll and administrative duties as needed
Requirements:
At least 2 years of payroll processing experience
Working knowledge of full-cycle payroll administration, including multi-state payroll practices for employee populations ranging from approximately 101 to 500 employees
Familiarity with payroll platforms such as ADP Workforce Now or comparable systems
Solid Microsoft Excel skills
Understanding of federal, state, and local payroll laws, tax requirements, and reporting standards
Strong attention to detail
Sound numerical skills
Ability to manage multiple deadlines effectively
Clear communication and customer support abilities
Ability to handle sensitive payroll and employee data with a high level of discretion
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or a related field preferred
Prior work in a higher education setting considered a plus
