We are seeking a Regional Payroll Accounting Specialist based in Bangalore, India (or willing to relocate to Bangalore) to lead day-to-day payroll operations across the EMEA region. You will be responsible for ensuring accurate payroll accounting, funding, accruals, reconciliations, and compliance. This role works closely with Payroll, Treasury, Finance, and Audit teams to support timely employee payments, accurate financial reporting, and adherence to statutory and regulatory requirements. You enjoy solving ambiguous problems and driving process improvements at scale.
Job Responsibility:
Prepare and maintain a monthly payroll funding forecast to support cash planning and payroll execution
Submit payroll funding requests upon payroll finalization and coordinate with the Treasury team to ensure timely and accurate employee payouts
Prepare monthly payroll accruals, including but not limited to: Paid Time Off (PTO), Gratuity, Pensions, 13th / 14th month payments, Workers’ compensation
Perform monthly payroll accrual reconciliations, investigating and resolving discrepancies in a timely manner
Support and participate in payroll audits, including the preparation of schedules, documentation, and responses to audit inquiries
Reconcile statutory payroll payments (e.g., taxes, social security, pension contributions) against general ledger postings to ensure accuracy and completeness
Participate in ad hoc projects and assignments related to payroll, accounting, systems, or process improvements as required
Monitor and implement compliance-related changes, ensuring payroll accounting practices remain aligned with regulatory and statutory requirements
Requirements:
3+ years of experience in payroll operations, payroll accounting, or financial accounting
Strong understanding of payroll accruals, statutory requirements, and general ledger reconciliations
High attention to detail with strong analytical and problem-solving skills
Ability to work cross-functionally with Payroll and other key stakeholders
Ability to manage deadlines in a fast-paced, multi-entity, or regional environment
Advanced Excel skills
comfortable with data validation, reconciliation, and analysis
Fluency in English
Experience with NetSuite (or a similar ERP system) and Expensify (or a similar expense management platform)
High ownership, bias for action, and the ability to operate in fast-changing environments across time zones
Nice to have:
Experience with EOR/PEO models and cross-border payroll operations
Exposure to audit frameworks and control design/testing (e.g., SOX)
