This position provides payroll expertise and accounting support to Air North and Chieftain Energy administrative teams by performing a variety of tasks related to various financial aspects of the business, provides the full range of payroll duties and supports in accounting duties including invoicing, cash reconciliation, accounts payable, reconciling sales and purchases, reconciling accounts receivable, and inventory.
Job Responsibility:
Prepares and administers biweekly payroll including processing of timecards, ensuring compliance of leave policies, and overall general payroll compliance
Reconciles various payroll reports, submits various reports, reconciles WCB, year end reports and other related payroll tasks
Process and verify customer payments on accounts
Prepare daily credit card reconciliation and reconcile to bank
Record daily cash transactions and reconcile to bank as support
Communicate with internal and external clients, vendors, and government representatives as required
Assist and cover Accounts Payable or Accounts Receivable to ensure essential functions are covered
Assist in developing payroll policies, credit and financial policies, and initiate continuous improvement programs
Requirements:
Minimum Grade 12 diploma or equivalent
Diploma in accounting related field or equivalent experience
Experience with Canada Labor Code and various payroll contracts or agreements
Proven ability to manage accounting figures and financial records
Strong computer proficiency and aptitude with data entry and reporting software programs
A strong sense of accountability, honesty, and responsibility in all tasks, supporting the trust that we have built with passengers, partners, and communities

Must be a legally entitled to work in Canada
Nice to have:
Experience working in a multi-company environment
Previous aviation experience
Payroll Compliance Practitioner certification
