This long-term contract position offers an opportunity to play a vital role in managing payroll operations while ensuring compliance with all relevant regulations. The ideal candidate will bring expertise in payroll systems and processes, coupled with a strong attention to detail and a commitment to accuracy.
Job Responsibility:
Process payroll on a regular basis, ensuring accuracy in employee pay, deductions, and time records
Maintain detailed payroll documentation and prepare for audits as required
Reconcile payroll accounts in the general ledger and create necessary journal entries
Administer wage garnishments, tax withholdings, and benefit deductions
Investigate and resolve payroll discrepancies, providing clear responses to employee inquiries
Prepare and submit payroll tax filings while ensuring compliance with deadlines
Generate year-end reports, including W-2 and 1099 forms
Monitor changes to payroll laws and regulations, implementing updates to processes as needed
Collaborate with HR and finance teams to address payroll-related concerns and support compensation planning
Requirements:
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field
Minimum of 3 years of experience in payroll accounting or general accounting
Comprehensive knowledge of payroll procedures, tax laws, and compliance standards
Proficiency in payroll software such as ADP Workforce Now, Paychex, or Workday
Strong skills in managing multi-state payroll and tax reporting
Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel for payroll data analysis
Exceptional organizational abilities and keen attention to detail
Excellent communication skills, with the ability to explain payroll matters clearly
