We are looking for an experienced Payroll Accountant to oversee all aspects of payroll operations for a dynamic service-oriented company in Elgin, Illinois. This role involves managing payroll processing, reporting, and reconciliation for a workforce that spans multiple divisions, including union employees. As this is a long-term contract position, you will play a critical role in ensuring compliance, accuracy, and efficiency in payroll functions while also supporting accounts receivable efforts.
Job Responsibility:
Process weekly payroll cycles across multiple divisions, ensuring accuracy and compliance
Utilize Paylocity to manage the entire payroll cycle, including audits, reporting, and system updates
Review pay rates, deductions, and benefits, particularly for union employees, to ensure accurate calculations
Prepare and submit payroll-related reports in compliance with company policies and regulatory standards
Perform account reconciliations related to payroll and maintain accurate financial records
Ensure automated timecard processing is functioning correctly and resolve discrepancies
Collaborate with internal corporate and field teams to optimize payroll operations
Assist the accounts receivable collections team on an as-needed basis
Maintain up-to-date knowledge of relevant payroll laws and compliance requirements
Requirements:
Proven experience in full-cycle payroll processing for hourly, salaried, and union employees
Proficiency in using Paylocity for payroll management and reporting
Strong knowledge of payroll compliance and regulatory requirements
Experience with account reconciliations and financial recordkeeping
Ability to work collaboratively across departments and support accounts receivable functions
Familiarity with handling union payroll deductions and benefits
Must have prior experience in detail-oriented payroll tasks

Solid understanding of multi-state payroll and payroll tax reporting
