Job Responsibility:

Manage comprehensive payroll processes for multi-state operations, ensuring compliance with federal, state, and local regulations
Utilize advanced features of payroll systems to streamline reporting, analytics, and payroll accuracy
Investigate and resolve payroll discrepancies, including calculations, deductions, and withholdings
Prepare and file payroll tax reports, including year-end documentation such as W-2 forms
Maintain accurate employee records in payroll systems, including onboarding, terminations, and employment status changes
Reconcile payroll-related general ledger accounts and generate detailed financial reports on payroll expenses
Collaborate with HR leadership to align payroll insights with workforce planning and strategic initiatives
Train and mentor entry-level staff on payroll practices and system functionalities
Partner with cross-functional teams to optimize payroll processes and ensure real-time reporting accuracy
Support audits by providing documentation for compliance reviews and implementing process improvements

Requirements:

Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Human Resources, or a related field
Minimum 5 years of payroll experience, with an emphasis on multi-state payroll processing
Advanced proficiency in payroll systems, preferably Ultimate Kronos Group (UKG)
Strong knowledge of federal and state labor laws, taxation, and compliance regulations
Expertise in payroll reconciliations, general ledger management, and accounting principles
Exceptional attention to detail and analytical skills to ensure payroll accuracy
Excellent interpersonal skills to collaborate with HR, Finance, and Operations teams
Certification in payroll or HR systems is highly preferred
