We are looking for a skilled Payroll Accountant to join our team on a long-term contract basis in Boca Raton, Florida. This role focuses on ensuring compliance with payroll tax regulations across multiple jurisdictions and managing detailed updates to tax registrations. The ideal candidate will bring extensive experience in payroll tax processes, including entity registrations, withholdings, and garnishments.
Job Responsibility:
Prepare and submit updated tax registration forms to reflect legal name changes across state and local jurisdictions
Coordinate directly with government agencies to ensure compliance and resolve discrepancies
Track and manage submission confirmations across 122 jurisdictions to guarantee timely updates
Reconcile agency records to verify the alignment of legal names and payroll tax filings
Audit and validate documentation prior to submission to ensure accuracy and compliance
Maintain organized, audit-ready records in adherence to company procedures
Monitor for risks such as missing documentation or mismatches and escalate issues as needed
Support payroll tax compliance efforts, particularly for withholding and garnishment accounts
Utilize workflow systems and tracking tools to manage multi-state filings efficiently
Requirements:
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field
Minimum of 2 years of experience in tax or compliance work, including interactions with state and local tax agencies
Hands-on experience with payroll tax accounts, including withholding and unemployment insurance
Familiarity with entity registration processes and legal name change updates
Proficiency in reviewing, auditing, and validating state and local tax documents
Strong knowledge of multi-state tax filing requirements and agency procedures
Advanced skills in Excel and document management systems
Exceptional organizational and project management abilities to handle high-volume jurisdictional updates
