MERS/Missouri Goodwill Industries is looking for an energetic, self-motivated, and professional Payroll Accountant to join our Accounting team! Job Responsibility:

  • Payroll Preparation and processing within the payroll accounting transaction cycle
  • Responsible for garnishments, ACA tracking, and check writing
  • Ensures that all agency policies and procedures are followed
  • Document maintenance and monthly account reconciliation
  • Review bi-weekly payroll report verifying payroll accuracy, including payroll deductions
  • Assist with completion of month end closing
  • Assist with review of federal and state tax returns and W2's for accuracy and completeness
  • Performs other duties as assigned

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in accountancy or two years of relevant work experience in processing payroll for organizations exceeding 1,000 employees
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills are required
  • Proficiency in MS Office and Excel
