We are looking for an experienced Payroll Accountant to join our team on a contract basis in Houston, Texas. This role requires a thorough understanding of certified payroll processes and prevailing wage regulations. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in payroll auditing and reporting, ensuring compliance with federal and state requirements.
Job Responsibility:
Manage full-cycle payroll processes to ensure accuracy and timeliness
Prepare and submit certified payroll reports in compliance with federal regulations, including Form WH-347
Audit payroll records to guarantee adherence to prevailing wage requirements
Collaborate with various departments to resolve payroll discrepancies and improve reporting accuracy
Ensure payroll tax reporting is completed correctly and on schedule
Maintain compliance with government regulations and industry standards related to payroll processing
Provide expertise in certified payroll procedures for government contracts
Analyze payroll systems and recommend improvements to enhance efficiency
Respond to inquiries regarding payroll matters and ensure prompt resolution
Requirements:
Minimum of 5 years’ experience in payroll accounting, including certified payroll
Expertise in full-cycle payroll processes and payroll tax reporting
Strong knowledge of prevailing wage regulations and compliance requirements
CPP certification is required
Familiarity with government contracting payroll procedures
Detail-oriented with excellent auditing and analytical skills
Proficient in payroll software and Excel VLOOKUP and Pivot Tables
Ability to work independently and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment
