Job Description:

We are currently seeking a highly experienced Payroll Accountant for a contract position with our firm based in El Segundo, California. This role is pivotal in ensuring our payroll systems and processes are compliant and efficient.

Job Responsibility:

  • Ensure compliance of payroll systems, processes, and corporate policies
  • Manage and direct vendors, audits, and process improvements related to payroll activities
  • Implement process improvements and cost optimization through data analytics and best practices
  • Collaborate cross-functionally to resolve complex payroll issues with various stakeholders
  • Provide training and mentorship to payroll specialists

Requirements:

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Minimum of ten years of relevant payroll experience
  • Proven experience in payroll administration, including complex calculations and analysis
  • In-depth knowledge of payroll regulations, tax laws, and labor laws, with experience in compliance
  • Experience with SSA, IRS, and multiple state and local taxation rules
  • Proficiency in advanced payroll software, HRIS systems, and data analysis tools
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to interpret and manipulate large datasets
  • Experience interacting with internal and external auditors
  • Excellent attention to detail and accuracy in payroll calculations and data entry
  • Strong organizational and project management abilities to handle multiple priorities and meet deadlines
  • Effective communication and interpersonal skills to collaborate with stakeholders at all levels
  • Familiarity with process improvement methodologies and a continuous improvement mindset
  • Ability to adapt to changing payroll regulations and technologies
  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting, business, finance, or related field
  • Professional certification in payroll administration (e.g., Certified Payroll Professional, Fundamental Payroll Certification)
  • Experience with SAP

  • Experience with ADP
