We have an exciting permanent opportunity as role of Payments Team Leader within our Finance team. This position plays a vital part in ensuring the effective delivery of our Payments service and in supporting colleagues across the organisation to maintain high standards of financial accuracy and compliance in accordance with the Group's Financial Regulations.
Job Responsibility:
Leading and developing the Payments Team to deliver a high‑quality, efficient and accurate service
Overseeing all payment systems across the Group
Ensuring correct coding, accurate vendor records and timely processing of all payments in line with compliance requirements
Managing the weekly payment run
Maintaining the integrity of the supplier database
Coordinating the verification process for new suppliers
Supporting ongoing improvements to purchasing, credit card and expenses processes
Providing training and guidance to colleagues
Acting as a systems lead for payment‑related platforms
Working closely with the Finance Manager (Payments), the Product Owner and the wider Finance team to scope, test and deliver system changes
Requirements:
Part-qualified accountant
Confident, positive and motivated individual
Strong experience of working with payment systems, financial controls and computerised accounting processes
Communicates clearly at all levels
Works collaboratively
Comfortable leading, supporting and developing a team
Deep understanding of information systems
Knows how data should flow through systems and the controls necessary to ensure robustness and accuracy
