Job Responsibility
Lead day-to-day payment processing operations, ensuring accuracy, timeliness, and efficiency
Serve as a key liaison between the AP Payments team and leadership, helping maintain a positive and collaborative team environment
Perform quality assurance audits prior to check runs and validate completion of all required payment controls
Troubleshoot team questions, resolve issues, and provide ongoing support to AP staff
Monitor payment activity, including holds reporting, and ensure all payments are processed correctly and on schedule
Train and onboard new team members on payment processes and procedures
Assist in managing workflow, maintaining documentation, and supporting process improvements
Ensure daily check distribution and coordinate supplies (check stock, envelopes, etc.)
Contribute to team performance management, including providing input on employee evaluations
Deliver excellent customer service to both internal and external stakeholders
Requirements
High school diploma or GED required
4+ years of experience in a high-volume processing or Accounts Payable environment
Prior team lead or informal leadership experience strongly preferred
Strong attention to detail and sense of urgency
Advanced Excel skills and solid proficiency in Microsoft Office
Experience working with accounting systems (ERP experience a plus)
Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment
Strong communication skills and a positive, motivated attitude
