Job Description

My client requires an experienced Payments SME to develop a clear, end-to-end understanding of all activities required to implement and operate American Express (AMEX) as an onsite payment channel. This includes a detailed view across contractual, technical, and operational dimensions, covering both the initial implementation and the ongoing run-state.

Job Responsibility

  • Establishing a new merchant relationship with American Express
  • Understanding AMEX fee structures, settlement timelines, and contractual requirements
  • Alignment with the Payment Gateway Provider support model and any commercial implications
  • Configuration changes required to enable AMEX across systems
  • Handling of pre-authorisations, incremental authorisations, and final settlement on room accounts
  • Updates to onsite payment flows (e.g. pay-as-you-go vs charge-to-room)
  • PCI DSS considerations and confirmation of compliance across all components
  • Major re-platforming of PoS/Epos systems
  • Working closely with stakeholders & Vendors
