Job Description:

The Payments Solutions Architect role at NTT DATA involves designing and delivering modern payment solutions across various payment rails. Candidates should have over 8 years of experience in payments and banking technology, with expertise in architecting solutions for ACH, wire payments, SWIFT, and real-time payment rails. A bachelor's degree in Computer Science or Engineering is required, and preferred certifications include AWS and TOGAF. Job Responsibility:

  • Architect and design solutions across ACH, wire payments, SWIFT, and real-time payment rails (e.g., RTP, FedNow)
  • Lead current-state assessments and define target-state architectures aligned to business and regulatory requirements
  • Design modern, API-driven, cloud-ready and/or on-prem payment platforms, including integration patterns and data flows
  • Advise on payment modernization initiatives, including migration from legacy systems
  • Collaborate with business stakeholders, engineers, vendors, and operations teams to translate requirements into technical designs
  • Produce high-quality architecture artifacts (solution designs, diagrams, interface specifications, and architecture decision records)
  • Ensure solutions meet security, resiliency, compliance, and performance standards

Requirements:

  • 8+ years of experience in payments, banking technology, or financial services systems
  • 4+ years of proven hands-on experience architecting solutions for ACH, wires, SWIFT, and real-time payment rails
  • 4+ years end-to-end payment processing, settlement, reconciliation, and exception handling
  • 4+ years of experience designing modern architectures using APIs, microservices, and event-driven patterns
  • Ability to translate business requirements into clear, pragmatic technical solutions
  • Strong communication skills with experience working in client-facing or consulting roles
  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field (or equivalent practical experience)
