Job Description:

Wells Fargo is seeking a Software Engineering Manager to be part of the Global Payments & Liquidity Treasury Technology organization helping to drive delivery of critical technology initiatives. This role involves managing a team of engineers, ensuring architectural adherence, and delivering innovative solutions for payment systems.

Job Responsibility:

Manage, coach, and develop a team of experienced engineers
Ensure adherence to the Banking Platform Architecture, and meeting non-functional requirements
Partner with architects and experienced engineers to incorporate Wells Fargo Technology technical strategies
Function as the technical representative for the product during cross-team collaborative efforts
Identify and recommend opportunities for driving escalated resolution of technology roadblocks
Determine appropriate strategy to meet moderate to high risk deliverables and help remove impediments
Build engineering skills side-by-side in the codebase, conduct peer reviews
Interpret, develop and ensure security, stability, and scalability within functions of technology
Collaborate with Product Managers/Product Owners to drive user satisfaction and influence technology requirements
Interact directly with third party vendors and technology service providers
Manage allocation of people and financial resources
Hire, build and guide a culture of talent development

Requirements:

4+ years of Software Engineering experience
4+ years of experience in a hands-on technical role such as software engineer or similar role
2+ years of Leadership experience
Experience with Payments systems – ACH, and/or Wires strongly preferred
Hands-on experience working with Microservices, J2EE architecture
Strong understanding of middleware and application server concepts like Integration, Transactions and XA transaction, Security, Connection pooling, Load balancing and Messaging
Strong analytical skills with high attention to detail and accuracy
Ability to manage effectively in virtual environment where key team members and partners are in various time zones and locations
Ability to take initiative, identify opportunities and implement change
4+ years of JMS (Java Message Service) experience
4+ years of Kafka Platform experience, Confluent Platform experience, or a combination of both
3+ years of MongoDB experience
3+ years of experience with secure DevOps and deployment automation to cloud environments
3+ years of experience with Test Automation

Nice to have:

Experience with Payments systems – ACH, and/or Wires
Familiar with system performance related tasks
Experience in clustered server environment
