Job Description

We are looking for a detail-oriented Payment Processing Specialist to join our team in Mountlake Terrace, Washington. In this role, you will play a critical part in ensuring the accuracy and timeliness of payment receipt processing while adhering to compliance standards and maintaining clear communication. This is a long-term contract position requiring someone who is eager to learn and grow in a production-focused environment.

Job Responsibility

  • Process and record incoming payments with precision and efficiency
  • Utilize bank portals and internal systems to allocate and manage payment transactions
  • Ensure compliance with federal and state regulations in all payment processing activities
  • Provide accurate accounting for payment and provider overpayment transactions
  • Collaborate with team members to maintain operational excellence and meet deadlines
  • Analyze payment data to ensure accuracy and resolve any discrepancies
  • Support additional administrative tasks as needed to enhance workflow
  • Uphold internal controls and best practices in payment processing
  • Communicate effectively with stakeholders to clarify and resolve payment-related issues

Requirements

  • Associate’s degree in business or accounting, or 2 years of relevant work experience
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in production accounting or payment processing
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Word, and other standard office applications
  • Strong understanding of general accounting principles and internal controls
  • Ability to interpret and analyze data with exceptional attention to detail
  • Effective verbal and written communication skills
  • Organizational skills to manage priorities and adhere to deadlines

Nice to have

Preferred experience with Workday or similar payment receipt applications
