The Pay & Reward Team plays an important role in achieving the outcomes of this strategy. As a Pay & Reward Assistant you will play a key role within our team to help us achieve the delivery of new projects, develop processes and improve our employee benefits offer. You will be a highly valued member of a small, enthusiastic team who continually seek to improve processes and develop the Pay & Reward offer at the Council. This opportunity is fixed term until September 2027 to cover a secondment.
Job Responsibility:
Providing advice and guidance to others on pay and reward related processes
Investigating and responding to pay related queries
Reviewing employee data to support reward processes and dealing with errors
Researching information sources to improve processes or to benchmark job roles
Promoting and supporting our employee benefits and recognition schemes
Supporting implementation and monitoring of our job evaluation processes
Assisting with the implementation of Pay & Reward policies and system improvements
Assisting with other pay related processes such as answering pay & reward related queries, undertaking pay benchmarking and assisting with the Council’s job evaluation process
Requirements:
Educated to A level or equivalent qualification / experience
Knowledge of employment legislation and HR policies, procedure and initiatives
Experience of providing HR or pay and reward advice and guidance
Experience of undertaking research, supporting improvements and changes to processes
Proficient in the use of Microsoft, excel and analysing employee data
Experience of working in a human resource, pay and reward or payroll environment
Ideally, knowledge of local government
