Job Description:

Leading investigation, analysis and design of pavement assets and supporting more junior team members. The technical delivery of a range of pavement engineering related projects for strategic highways and local projects throughout the UK.

Job Responsibility:

  • Project management and/or technical delivery of a variety of projects in the field of pavement engineering
  • Preparation of scheme design options to suit varying budgetary scenarios for both new construction and maintenance works
  • Promoting Jean Lefebvre (UK)’s capabilities with internal and external customers, current and new
  • Supporting in developing and enhancing client relationships with several public and private sector clients
  • Deliver, and ensure the delivery of others’ outputs to quality, programme, and budget
  • Complying with and championing company processes and policies, and ensuring adherence to safety, welfare, quality, and environmental requirements
  • To provide appropriate technical advice and reports relating to design, construction and condition of pavements in accordance with industry guidance, national and international standards
  • To ensure design, testing and reporting meet the expected levels of technical excellence
  • To seek innovation in the delivery of schemes and techniques used to design and construct
  • Working within a team environment and contributing to its development, supporting other areas of the business as work volumes and resource requires
  • Accountable for maintaining SHE standards throughout the site
  • At all times to adhere to company procedures with regard to Health & Safety and where applicable to ensure all team members do likewise
  • At all times to behave in a way that supports the company’s stated Vision and Values and where applicable to ensure all team members do likewise

Requirements:

  • Degree in Civil Engineering (Desirable)
  • Chartered (or working towards chartership) to a relevant professional institution or equivalent
  • Minimum of 5-years within the field of pavement engineering (Desirable)
  • Full UK driving licence
  • Sound knowledge and understanding of pavement design principles (Flexible, Rigid and Composite Pavements)
  • Sound knowledge and understanding of pavement materials (Concrete, Asphalt and Hydraulically Bound Materials)
  • Experience in the use of UK standards for the design of pavements for highway, airfield, port and other applications
  • Knowledge of construction techniques and practices for new construction and maintenance works, including recycling
  • Experience in specification, execution, analysis and interpretation of a comprehensive range of pavement investigation and evaluation techniques
  • Experience in managing and delivering projects and meeting client expectations
  • Ability to manage a team and individuals
  • Ability to work within a team
  • Excellent communication skills, with the ability to provide clear instruction concisely both written and verbal
  • Ability to work on own initiative
  • Solid IT skills, including experience of Microsoft Office and AutoCAD
