Job Description:

The Transporter will perform a variety of activities related to the transportation of patients, specimens, and equipment. They will greet as well as assist patients and visitors at hospitals and clinics as directed.

Job Responsibility:

  • Transport patients from their rooms to various locations
  • Retrieve the proper equipment needed for the transport of patients
  • Complete daily paperwork documenting activity
  • Maintain a safe, healthy working environment
  • Provide emotional support to patients and their families by listening to them and showing compassion
  • Perform all other duties assigned

Requirements:

  • Physically able to transport patients by wheelchairs, stretchers, and/or beds
  • Ability to work independently utilizing a beeper
  • Must be able to stand for long periods of time
  • Heavy pulling, pushing, and lifting are required (50 lbs or more)
  • High School Diploma or equivalent

  • Adheres to all established systems and training programs to provide a safe working environment. Follows OSHA regulations and other local, state, and federal regulations
