BLS certification through American Heart Association or within 90 days of employment

Job Responsibility

Specifically responsible for transporting patients as assigned
Responsible for verifying patient identity using two patient identifiers
Provide and adjust transport equipment for safety and comfort of the patient i.e., appropriate line, side rails
Required to disinfect/wipe down equipment with approved cleaning product between patient transports
Assist patients onto transport equipment, request patient care assistance if additional help needed
Show ownership over transport equipment including routine cleaning, linen dressing, and reporting maintenance needs
Notify nursing or ancillary personnel upon arrival or departure of patients
Attend to care of documents relating to the patient e.g., ticket to ride
Report immediately any unusual symptoms of patients i.e., fainting, shortness of breath during transport
Provide, move, and care for transport equipment for patient movement

Collaborate with nursing, clinical, and support departments to ensure seamless service delivery aligned with patient care needs
Observing patients to ensure safety, especially those at risk of self-harm, and promptly alerting medical staff to concerns
Maintain a motivated, team-oriented environment that promotes service excellence, compassion, and accountability
Demonstrate knowledge of patient transport and observation protocols, infection control practices, and safe patient handling techniques
Monitor and supervise dispatcher activity, ensuring effective use of software systems, communication tools, and workflow efficiency
