Perform patient care and support activities to promote a patient focused care environment. Transport patients within the hospital, assist procedure performance and processing, assist data entry of information into Hospital information system (s), order and stock supplies, maintain unit equipment, and assist patients. Ensure adherence to Hospitals and departmental policies and procedures. Patient care assignment may include neonate, pediatric, adolescent, adult and geriatric age groups.
Job Responsibility:

Communicate with staff to assure that patient is ready for transport
Communicate with patients to inform of reason for transport and to promote learning
Assist patients with basic ADLS
Answer patients' lights and provide patient service within skill level, or relay patient's request to appropriate care giver
Transport patients to and from requesting areas
Assist in preparation and maintenance of patient care areas
Maintain unit equipment and manage routine repairs through clinical engineering
Assist in setting unit supply PAR levels, order supplies on a daily basis and stock supplies on a daily basis in cost effective manner
Pass and pick up dietary trays
communicates patient dietary needs as required
Assist in the acquisition of supplies, deliver supplies or specimens to other departments
Report any physical plant safety issues or equipment problems to the appropriate resources
Demonstrate proficiency in utilizing and accessing appropriate computer and information system
Work independently and within a team environment
Maintains patient and staff confidentiality, yet reports any breach of conduct
Identify interpersonal problem areas and demonstrate ability to resolve conflict with those involved in a positive, constructive manner
Comply with work environment routines according to hospital, nursing division and departmental policies and procedures
Follow patient safety-related policies, procedures and protocols
Demonstrate proactive approach to patient safety by seeking opportunities to improve patient safety through questioning of current policies and processes
Identify and report/correct environmental conditions and/or situations that may put a patient at undue risk
Report potential or actual patient safety concerns, medical errors and/or near misses in a timely manner
Encourage patients to actively participate in their own care by asking questions and reporting treatment or situations that they don't understand or may 'not seem right'
Requirements:
High School or GED Equivalent
CPR for Healthcare/BLS Prov or Prof Rescuers w/in 30 days
