This contract to permanent position offers an opportunity to contribute to the smooth operation of patient services while ensuring a positive experience for visitors and patients. WEEKEND HOURS ARE REQUIRED.
Job Responsibility:
Welcome and assist patients and visitors with professionalism and empathy
Schedule, reschedule, and confirm patient appointments while maintaining accuracy
Register patients and update demographic and insurance details in the system
Verify insurance coverage and obtain required authorizations for services
Collect payments, including co-pays, deductibles, and outstanding balances, in a timely manner
Maintain and update electronic health records to ensure data integrity
Collaborate with clinical staff to coordinate patient appointments and documentation
Manage patient check-in and check-out processes efficiently and courteously
Address patient inquiries and provide clear information about services and procedures
Requirements:
Previous experience in patient scheduling, registration, or customer service is essential
Proficient in handling electronic health records and insurance verification
Strong communication and interpersonal skills to interact effectively with patients and staff
Ability to multitask and prioritize tasks in a fast-paced healthcare environment
Detail-oriented with a commitment to maintaining accurate records
High school diploma or equivalent education required
Nice to have:
Knowledge of healthcare terminology and procedures is preferred
Additional certifications are a plus
