We are looking for an experienced Patient Service Representative to join our team in Sacramento, California. In this role, you will handle critical front desk tasks, including patient scheduling, insurance verification, and providing exceptional customer service. This is a Contract to permanent position ideal for candidates who thrive in fast-paced healthcare settings and are committed to ensuring a positive patient experience.
Job Responsibility:
Schedule patient appointments using approved systems and provide reminders for upcoming visits
Manage patient registration processes, including updating demographic information and verifying authorizations for services
Confirm insurance coverage and eligibility for all patients, including coordination with Medicare, Medi-Cal, and other federal and state programs
Serve as the primary contact for patient interactions, addressing inquiries and resolving concerns efficiently and professionally
Maintain accurate records and documentation in electronic medical record systems such as Epic
Collaborate with healthcare providers and staff to optimize patient flow and scheduling
Ensure compliance with organizational policies and procedures in all patient service activities
Conduct follow-ups with patients regarding scheduling changes or additional requirements
Provide excellent customer service by fostering a welcoming and supportive environment
Assist with supervisory oversight, ensuring quality control and adherence to service standards
Requirements:
High school diploma or equivalent is required
Minimum of one year of experience in a patient service or medical front office role
Proficiency in Epic EMR and other electronic medical record systems is essential
Strong knowledge of health insurance policies, including Medicare, Medi-Cal, and other federal/state programs
Demonstrated ability to deliver exceptional customer service in a healthcare setting
Excellent communication and organizational skills, with attention to detail
Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced and dynamic environment
Nice to have:
Previous experience in supervisory roles or call center customer service is a plus
