The person in this role will serve as a key point of contact for patients while maintaining organized and compliant intake processes.
Job Responsibility
Welcome patients courteously and guide them through registration and check-in procedures
Collect, review, and update demographic, contact, and coverage details to maintain accurate patient records
Coordinate appointment scheduling, rescheduling, and cancellations while helping patients understand next steps
Verify medical insurance information and confirm eligibility before services are provided
Answer patient questions related to registration, scheduling, and required documentation in a clear and courteous manner
Maintain confidentiality of patient information and follow established healthcare office policies and procedures
Work with clinical and administrative staff to resolve registration issues and support smooth patient flow
Requirements
Prior experience in patient registration, patient access, or a similar healthcare front-desk role
Ability to assist patients with professionalism, empathy, and strong customer service skills
Experience scheduling appointments in a medical or healthcare environment
Working knowledge of medical insurance verification and eligibility review
Strong attention to detail when entering and updating patient information
Effective verbal communication skills and the ability to interact confidently with patients and staff
Basic computer proficiency and comfort using registration or scheduling systems
