Job Description

We are looking for a detail-oriented and customer-focused individual to join our team as a Patient Registration Specialist on a contract basis. In this role, you will play a key part in ensuring seamless patient intake processes and supporting efficient healthcare operations. This position is based in Boston, Massachusetts, and offers the opportunity to contribute to a dynamic healthcare environment.

Job Responsibility

  • Process new patient intakes and inpatient admissions accurately and efficiently
  • Coordinate with outpatient clinics and care managers to place orders and facilitate same-day scheduling
  • Collaborate with referring providers to ensure a smooth transition from referral to appointment scheduling
  • Assist uninsured patients by providing financial counseling support and guidance
  • Perform general office tasks such as scanning, filing, faxing, and other administrative duties as needed
  • Maintain accurate records and uphold confidentiality in all patient-related processes
  • Utilize medical software and Microsoft Office tools to manage data and support operational needs
  • Ensure a high level of customer service while interacting with patients and healthcare professionals

Requirements

  • At least 2 years of experience in patient scheduling, registration, and insurance verification
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite and familiarity with medical terminology and healthcare systems
  • Strong ability to work both independently and collaboratively within a team
  • Excellent organizational and communication skills to manage multiple tasks effectively

Nice to have

  • Bilingual proficiency in English and Spanish is preferred
  • Customer service experience, particularly in a healthcare setting, is highly desirable
