Job Description

We are looking for a dedicated Patient Registration Representative to join our team in Roanoke, Virginia. In this role, you will serve as a vital point of contact for patients, providing exceptional service and support in a fast-paced healthcare environment. This is a long-term contract position offering the opportunity to make a meaningful impact while growing your skills.

Job Responsibility

  • Answer and manage a multi-line phone system, ensuring the smooth flow of communication
  • Deliver exceptional customer service, addressing patient inquiries and concerns promptly and professionally
  • Execute data entry tasks, keeping patient records up-to-date and accurate
  • Correspond via email, providing clear and concise information to patients and team members
  • Utilize strong interpersonal skills to build rapport with patients and enhance their experience
  • Employ Microsoft Excel, Microsoft Outlook, and Microsoft Word to manage and organize files
  • Schedule appointments, ensuring a well-coordinated flow of patients
  • Adapt to varied shifts, demonstrating flexibility and commitment

Requirements

  • Previous experience in a customer-facing role, preferably in a call center or healthcare setting
  • Familiarity with basic medical terminology and patient billing processes
  • Strong communication skills, both verbal and written, with a focus on empathy and professionalism
  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, rotating schedule environment
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail for maintaining accurate records
  • Able to work an on Saturdays from 11am-11pm, Sundays and Mondays from 11am-5pm, and Tuesdays from 11am-11pm

  • Meet CMS billing requirements for the completion of the MSP, issuance of the Important Message from Medicare, issuance of the Observation Notice, and other requirements, as applicable and documenting completion within the hospital's information system for regulatory compliance and audit purposes
