As a Patient Registration Representative, you will ensure a positive patient experience during registration, employing excellent customer service. Every day you will identify patients, collect accurate demographics, verify insurance, determine/collect financial liability, and explain hospital policies and patient rights to families. To be successful, you will demonstrate exceptional customer service, meticulous attention to detail in data/insurance, and strong communication, crucial for patient satisfaction and reimbursement.
Job Responsibility:
Ensure a positive patient experience during registration
Identify patients, collect accurate demographics, verify insurance, determine/collect financial liability, and explain hospital policies and patient rights to families
Ensure a professional and responsive atmosphere by greeting patients, visitors, staff, and physicians
Answer telephones and switchboard
Relay messages
Provide clerical support within the department
Transcribe physician's orders and enter them into the computer
Schedule/arrange diagnostic tests/procedures as ordered
Requirements:
High School Graduate High School Diploma or High School GED
Two years hospital patient registration experience
Three years of patient registration experience in a non-acute setting may be substituted for the hospital and/or emergency department experience
