Job Description:

As a Patient Registration Representative, you will ensure a positive patient experience during registration, employing excellent customer service. Every day you will identify patients, collect accurate demographics, verify insurance, determine/collect financial liability, and explain hospital policies and patient rights to families. To be successful, you will demonstrate exceptional customer service, meticulous attention to detail in data/insurance, and strong communication, crucial for patient satisfaction and reimbursement.

Job Responsibility:

  • Ensure a positive patient experience during registration
  • Identify patients, collect accurate demographics, verify insurance, determine/collect financial liability, and explain hospital policies and patient rights to families
  • Ensure a professional and responsive atmosphere by greeting patients, visitors, staff, and physicians
  • Answer telephones and switchboard
  • Relay messages
  • Provide clerical support within the department
  • Transcribe physician's orders and enter them into the computer
  • Schedule/arrange diagnostic tests/procedures as ordered

Requirements:

  • High School Graduate High School Diploma or High School GED
  • Two years hospital patient registration experience
  • Three years of patient registration experience in a non-acute setting may be substituted for the hospital and/or emergency department experience
