Job Description:

We are looking for a detail-oriented and compassionate individual to join our healthcare team as a Patient Registrar in Three Rivers, Michigan. In this contract position, you will play a vital role in ensuring smooth patient registration and scheduling processes while providing excellent customer service. This role is ideal for someone with a background in medical settings who thrives in fast-paced environments. This is a third shift role, 11pm-7am, 100% onsite.

Job Responsibility:

  • Register patients accurately in the emergency department, including those admitted as inpatients or outpatients
  • Input patient demographic and financial details into the hospital's computer system with precision
  • Verify insurance coverage and eligibility to ensure proper billing and financial clearance
  • Collect co-pays and other payments from patients in a detail-oriented and empathetic manner
  • Conduct interviews with patients or their families to gather necessary registration information
  • Prepare and manage registration forms, admissions paperwork, and other documentation
  • Provide clerical and secretarial support as needed to maintain efficient operations
  • Assist patients with navigation and escort them to various areas within the hospital
  • Track bed availability and coordinate patient transfers or discharges when required
  • Support medical records requests in compliance with organizational policies

Requirements:

  • Strong customer service skills to interact effectively and compassionately with patients and families
  • Proficiency in data entry with attention to accuracy and efficiency
  • Basic understanding of medical terminology, with prior experience preferred
  • Familiarity with insurance verification processes and eligibility requirements
  • Ability to perform well under pressure in a fast-paced healthcare environment
  • Team-oriented mindset to collaborate with other healthcare professionals
  • Basic math skills for handling financial transactions and co-payments
  • High school diploma or equivalent required
