The Patient Financial Data Coordinator supports the Patient Financial Services team by assisting with Medi‑Cal eligibility verification, insurance documentation, data tracking, and EHR data entry. This is an entry‑level healthcare administrative role ideal for candidates with strong attention to detail, Excel skills, and an interest in healthcare operations. The role works closely with clinical and billing teams to ensure accurate financial documentation and compliance with regulatory requirements.
Job Responsibility:
Verify Medi‑Cal eligibility and support determination of patient financial responsibility
Maintain enrollment, re‑certification, and tracking logs using Excel and internal systems
Create, update, and manage Electronic Payor Financial Information (E‑PFI) records within the EHR
Collect, organize, and follow up on required patient financial and insurance documentation
Maintain electronic insurance and EOB files for private insurance clients
Perform daily data entry, record maintenance, and routine audits for accuracy and compliance
Support discharge reviews and UNDAP determinations as assigned
Cross‑train within the department and assist with process improvements as needed
Requirements:
1+ year of experience in healthcare administration, patient access, insurance verification, or a related role preferred
Familiarity with Medi‑Cal eligibility or insurance verification is strongly preferred, but training will be provided
Strong data entry, organization, and tracking skills
