Job Description:

We are looking for a dedicated Patient Financial Access Facilitator to join our healthcare team in Trumbull, Connecticut. In this role, you will be responsible for overseeing patient registration, scheduling, and insurance verification processes while ensuring high-quality service and compliance with healthcare regulations. This is a long-term contract position offering an opportunity to make a meaningful impact in a fast-paced and collaborative environment.

Job Responsibility:

  • Manage patient check-in and check-out processes, ensuring accurate collection and update of demographic and financial information
  • Schedule patient appointments promptly and accurately, coordinating with clinical staff and addressing patient needs
  • Verify insurance eligibility, collect co-payments, and initiate funding referrals according to departmental policies
  • Maintain compliance with managed care requirements and healthcare regulations while processing patient visits
  • Assist patients requiring special accommodations, such as non-English speakers or individuals with disabilities, to ensure accessibility
  • Obtain necessary signatures and authorizations, documenting relevant information in patient accounts
  • Monitor and maintain scheduling waitlists, filling open slots efficiently to optimize appointment availability
  • Collaborate with the clinical team to ensure seamless patient flow and effective communication
  • Uphold confidentiality and professionalism while handling sensitive patient information
  • Troubleshoot and resolve issues related to insurance discrepancies or billing concerns

Requirements:

  • Proven experience in patient registration and scheduling within a healthcare setting
  • Strong knowledge of insurance processes and third-party payer requirements
  • Excellent customer service and communication skills to interact effectively with patients and staff
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail and accuracy
  • Proficiency in using online systems and applications for data entry and financial reconciliation
  • Familiarity with healthcare regulations and managed care policies
  • Bilingual proficiency in Spanish and English is highly desirable
  • Commitment to maintaining confidentiality and professionalism in all interactions
