Our Patient Care Technicians (PCT) provide daily assistance to patients. You will help them with their basic needs and collaborate with medical professionals to achieve excellent patient care. A Patient Care Technician is a committed and compassionate professional. They have great interpersonal skills and ability to create a supportive environment. We expect you to be trained in patient care as well as various clinical tasks. The goal is to facilitate the recovery of the ill and injured by providing them critical everyday assistance.
Job Responsibility:
Provides care to patients on the Med-Surg/Rehab/ICU/ER unit according to policy and procedure and care standards
Ability to take direction from others and follow through in a concise manner, which also promotes efficiency
Ability to communicate well with patients, families, co-workers, etc
Ability to set priorities
Acts to protect and advance patient’s best interest
Maintains knowledge of equipment, expected patient outcome, and anticipated complications
Satisfactorily demonstrates the knowledge, skills and abilities to perform the duties outlined in this job description as well as continually demonstrates competency in performing the job duties
Requirements:
High School graduate or equivalent
Must have one year clinical hospital experience OR Completion of a nursing assistant (CNA, MA, AUA) training program or equivalent OR Completion of one semester of clinical nursing courses in an accredited RN program
BLS healthcare required 30 days of hire
For PCT II: Must complete 90 day initial competence validation for a PCTI
Must have one year clinical hospital experience as a PCT/CNA/MA and formalized phlebotomy, order entry and EKG/Dysrhythmia Interpretation training OR AUA certification and completion of a formalized phlebotomy, order entry and EKG/Dysrhythmia Interpretation training OR Completion of two semesters of clinical nursing courses in an accredited RN program and competency completion in phlebotomy, order entry, and EKG/Dysrhythmia Interpretation
