We are looking for a highly organized and detail-oriented Patient Care Coordinator to join our team on a contract basis in Phoenix, Arizona. In this role, you will handle administrative tasks related to insurance verification, payment processing, and patient support. Your ability to navigate complex insurance policies and financial processes will be crucial to ensuring smooth operations and positive patient experiences.
Job Responsibility:
Accurately document insurance verification details, including deductibles, copayments, coinsurance, and policy limitations within the organization’s system
Calculate payment amounts using basic mathematical skills to ensure accuracy in financial transactions
Process financial payments and manage related requests efficiently and professionally
Address and resolve complex insurance denials while maintaining a clear understanding of payer policies
Utilize intermediate to advanced computer skills to manage administrative tasks and patient information
Communicate effectively with patients, insurance providers, and team members to facilitate smooth coordination
Verify insurance coverage and benefits, ensuring compliance with organizational and payer requirements
Support the photocopying and scanning of documents for accurate record-keeping and accessibility
Collaborate with offshore teams or external providers as needed to streamline processes
Maintain detailed knowledge of insurance policies, procedures, and medical terminology to perform duties effectively
Requirements:
Strong understanding of insurance policies, coverage, and procedures
Familiarity with medical terminology and its application in administrative tasks
Proven experience in processing financial payments and managing related requests
Ability to handle complex insurance denials and resolve issues promptly
Proficiency in intermediate to advanced computer skills, including relevant software
Skilled in basic mathematics for accurate payment calculations
Effective communication and organizational abilities to manage patient interactions and documentation
Nice to have:
Experience in working with TRICARE or other specialized insurance plans is preferred
