As a Patient Care Assistant (PCA) of the BMG Float Team, you will play a crucial role in providing seamless support to various offices by filling in staffing gaps. This position requires flexibility, adaptability, and a commitment to maintaining high standards of patient care across different locations. The Patient Care Assistant (PCA) performs various duties assisting with the treatment and care of patients in accordance with facility or department policies, procedures, and/or protocols under the supervision and/or direction of the physician or registered nurse. The PCA assists in maintaining a safe work environment and performs all related job responsibilities in a safe manner. The PCA maintains clinical and professional competency as appropriate to the population of clients served.
Job Responsibility:
Prioritize and complete assigned tasks accurately in a safe, effective, and fiscally responsible manner
Act as a preceptor and mentor for other patient care assistants
Ensure positive patient identification and collect and label lab specimens according to policy
Follow department policies, procedures and/or protocols appropriate for Beebe Medical Group
Utilize electronic medical records and other electronic health systems for patient care documentation
Demonstrate proper technique in operating all office equipment and maintain clean/stocked patient care area
Actively assists others and accepts additional duties or assignments
Works in other BMG office locations and/or other shift times when needed
Models the Beebe Healthcare mission, vision, and values
Practices in a manner that is congruent with cultural diversity and inclusion principles
Requirements:
BLS - Basic Life Support (American Heart Association) current certification
High School Graduate or equivalent
One year medical/clinical experience or graduate of Medical Assistant program required
Must obtain certification as a medical assistant within 18 months of hire
Clear Communication Skills Both Written and Verbal
Adheres to HIPPA and confidentiality policies regarding PHI
Able to Withstand Crisis Situations
Professional Customer Service skills
Knowledge and Experience with Electronic Health Records
Experience In Practice or Clinic Setting
