Job Description:

The Staff Assistant performs multiple, varied tasks within the Patient Accounts department including working reports to resolution, general clerical support tasks, assigned daily operational tasks. Position takes an active role in completion of daily system functions and support within the department as well as our support departments.

  • 2 years prior healthcare office environment experience

  • Demonstrated experience requiring attention to detail
  • Computer proficiency using multiple applications simultaneously
  • Ability to set priorities, multitask and work independently with minimal supervision

  • Convert information from Patient Software to a usable form in Accounting Software to prepare deposits for Medicare/Medicaid/private insurance
  • Assist Accounts Payable by preparing large vendor spreadsheets for payment as needed and inputting nursing home invoices into the Accounting Software
  • Prepare back up for the monthly settlement (Due to/Due From) for payment between related corporations in a timely manner
  • Maintain the Fixed Asset subledger, record addition, disposal, gain/loss entries into the general ledger, and manage the scanning and depositing of daily checks received
