Patient Account Representative

• Review and manage patient accounts to ensure accurate billing and timely follow-up
• Contact insurance companies, patients, and hospital departments regarding claim status, payment issues, and account discrepancies
• Process payments, adjustments, refunds, and account updates in accordance with hospital policies
• Investigate and resolve denied, underpaid, or unpaid claims
• Assist patients with billing questions, payment arrangements, and financial responsibility explanations
• Maintain accurate documentation of account activity in billing and hospital systems
• Ensure compliance with HIPAA, hospital policies, and applicable billing regulations
• Support month-end reporting and account reconciliation activities as needed

• 2+ years of experience in medical billing and/or collections
• Minimum 2 years of experience as a Patient Account Representative, Medical Biller, or similar healthcare revenue cycle role
• Hospital billing experience strongly preferred
• Knowledge of insurance verification, claims processing, denial follow-up, and patient account resolution
• Familiarity with Medicare, Medicaid, and commercial insurance billing practices
• Strong communication, customer service, and problem-solving skills
• High attention to detail and accuracy
• Proficiency with healthcare billing systems and Microsoft Office Suite
• High school diploma or equivalent required
