We are looking for a dedicated Patient Access Specialist to join our team in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. This role involves ensuring smooth and efficient patient admissions while maintaining compliance with organizational and regulatory standards. Job Responsibility:

  • Accurately assign medical record numbers and complete medical necessity checks to ensure compliance and proper patient registration
  • Provide clear instructions to patients while collecting insurance information and processing physician orders
  • Maintain excellent customer service standards during patient interactions with a compassionate approach
  • Meet assigned point-of-service goals and utilize auditing tools to correct account discrepancies
  • Conduct pre-registration tasks, including inbound and outbound calls to gather patient demographics, insurance details, and financial liabilities
  • Explain and obtain necessary signatures for consent and treatment forms while distributing essential patient education documents
  • Verify insurance eligibility and input accurate benefit data to support billing processes and enhance claim accuracy
  • Screen medical necessity using appropriate tools to inform Medicare patients of potential non-payment scenarios
  • Collect point-of-service payments, manage past-due balances, and offer payment plan options to patients

Requirements:

  • Previous experience in patient registration or scheduling within a healthcare setting
  • Knowledge of medical insurance verification processes
  • Strong communication and customer service skills with a compassionate approach
