We are looking for a Full Time Patient Access Specialist to join our team in Salem, Indiana. In this role, you will be the first point of contact for patients, guiding them through the registration process with attention to detail and empathy. Job Responsibility:
Assist patients during the registration process, ensuring their information is collected accurately and efficiently
Provide clear and compassionate communication to address patient concerns and alleviate anxiety
Answer questions regarding insurance coverage and health plans, offering guidance based on training
Work in a dynamic environment that requires multitasking and adapting to unexpected situations
Collaborate with team members to ensure smooth operations and support patient needs
Maintain knowledge of healthcare procedures and insurance policies to provide accurate information
Utilize systems and tools effectively to manage patient data and documentation
Ensure compliance with hospital policies and regulations throughout the registration process
Build trust and rapport with patients by actively listening and addressing their concerns
Uphold an attentive and detail-oriented demeanor while assisting individuals who may be ill or distressed
Requirements:
Previous experience in customer service roles, preferably in a healthcare setting
Strong communication and interpersonal skills to interact effectively with patients and colleagues
Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple tasks simultaneously
Familiarity with insurance policies, health plans, and registration processes is preferred
Proficiency in typing and data entry to ensure accurate documentation
Compassionate and empathetic nature to provide support to patients during stressful situations
Willingness to undergo training and adapt to new systems and procedures
Ability to complete a criminal background check, Drug screen and Occupational Health Screening
