We are looking for a detail oriented Patient Access Specialist to join our team in North Vernon, Indiana. In this role, you will play a key part in ensuring smooth patient registration processes, providing exceptional customer service, and handling administrative tasks efficiently. This is a long-term contract position with opportunities to make a meaningful impact within a healthcare setting.
Job Responsibility:
Greet and register patients with professionalism and empathy, ensuring a positive first impression
Obtain, validate, and update patient demographic and insurance information, maintaining accurate records
Schedule, reschedule, and coordinate patient appointments across multiple providers and service lines
Verify insurance benefits
collect and process co-pays, deductibles, and prior authorizations as needed
Manage intake forms, admissions, and referrals with attention to detail and regulatory compliance
Respond to patient inquiries
resolve access or billing issues with efficiency and tact
Collaborate with clinical and non-clinical teams to ensure seamless patient flow and service
Requirements:
Prior experience in patient access, medical front desk, admissions, scheduling, or a related non-clinical healthcare role strongly preferred
Familiarity with Epic, scheduling software, or electronic records management systems is a strong plus
Excellent organizational, communication, and customer service skills
Ability to work in a fast-paced, multitasking environment while maintaining accuracy and compassion
Demonstrated commitment to patient privacy and confidentiality
