Job Description

We are looking for a detail-oriented Patient Access Specialist to join our team on a contract basis in New Orleans, Louisiana. In this role, you will be responsible for ensuring smooth patient registration, scheduling, and insurance verification processes within an outpatient medical clinic setting. This position offers an excellent opportunity to contribute to healthcare operations and may lead to a permanent position based on performance and availability of roles.

Job Responsibility

  • Handle patient registration processes, ensuring accurate data entry and adherence to protocols
  • Coordinate patient scheduling to optimize clinic operations and reduce wait times
  • Verify medical insurance information and assist patients with understanding their coverage options
  • Utilize electronic health record (EHR) systems, particularly eClinicalWorks, to manage patient information efficiently
  • Deliver exceptional customer service by addressing patient inquiries and resolving issues promptly
  • Collaborate with healthcare staff to ensure seamless communication and workflow
  • Maintain confidentiality and comply with healthcare regulations to protect patient information
  • Float between clinic locations as needed to support operational demands

Requirements

  • Previous experience in patient access or registration within an outpatient clinic setting
  • Proficiency in utilizing electronic health record (EHR) systems, with expertise in eClinicalWorks preferred
  • Strong understanding of medical insurance verification processes
  • Excellent organizational and multitasking skills in a fast-paced environment
  • Exceptional customer service and communication abilities
  • Ability to adapt to changing priorities and float between clinic locations as required
  • Familiarity with healthcare regulations and patient confidentiality standards
  • Availability for a 40-hour work week during the contract period
