We are looking for a detail-oriented and compassionate Patient Access Specialist to join our healthcare team in Roanoke, Virginia. In this role, you will be the first point of contact for patients, ensuring a welcoming and efficient experience. This is a Contract to permanent position, offering the opportunity to grow within a dynamic and patient-focused environment.
Job Responsibility:
Greet patients and visitors with a friendly and detail-oriented demeanor, ensuring a positive first impression
Perform accurate patient registration, including verifying and updating insurance and personal information
Schedule and confirm appointments, coordinating follow-ups as needed
Process payments, collect co-pays, and ensure all financial transactions are properly recorded
Collaborate with clinical and administrative teams to ensure seamless patient flow and communication
Maintain strict confidentiality and adhere to all privacy regulations to safeguard patient information
Address patient inquiries and concerns with empathy, escalating issues to the appropriate team member when necessary
Ensure all records and documentation are accurate and up-to-date, supporting efficient operations
Requirements:
Previous experience in patient registration, scheduling, or a related healthcare administrative role
Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
Familiarity with medical insurance verification processes and terminology
Proficiency in using scheduling software and other healthcare administrative tools
Ability to handle sensitive information with discretion and maintain patient confidentiality
Problem-solving skills and the ability to adapt to a fast-paced environment
High school diploma or equivalent
