We are looking for a compassionate and detail-oriented Patient Access Specialist to join our healthcare team in Roanoke, Virginia. In this role, you will be the first point of contact for patients, ensuring a seamless and positive experience by assisting with registrations, appointments, and other administrative tasks. Job Responsibility:
Greet patients and visitors warmly, fostering a welcoming and detail-oriented atmosphere
Complete patient registration accurately, including verifying insurance information and updating records
Schedule and confirm appointments, ensuring efficient coordination with clinical staff
Process payments, collect co-pays, and reconcile daily transactions with accuracy
Collaborate with administrative and clinical teams to maintain smooth patient flow throughout the facility
Uphold patient confidentiality by adhering to all privacy and security regulations
Respond to patient inquiries and concerns with empathy, escalating issues to appropriate personnel when necessary
Assist with verifying medical insurance coverage and resolving related issues
Provide general support to ensure the overall efficiency of patient access operations
Requirements:
Proven experience in patient registration, scheduling, or other administrative roles within a healthcare setting
Strong understanding of medical insurance verification processes
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills for interacting with patients and healthcare staff
High level of accuracy and attention to detail when managing patient records and transactions
Ability to handle sensitive information with confidentiality and professionalism
Proficiency in using healthcare management software and other relevant tools
Strong organizational skills and the ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment
