We are seeking a dependable, detail-oriented Patient Access Representative to support the Emergency Department at a busy healthcare facility in Burbank. This role is critical in ensuring a smooth, efficient, and compassionate patient intake process in a fast-paced, high-acuity environment.
Job Responsibility:
Greet and check in patients as they arrive to the Emergency Department
Accurately collect and verify patient demographic and insurance information
Register patients in hospital systems while maintaining compliance with privacy regulations
Communicate clearly and compassionately with patients and families during stressful situations
Collaborate closely with clinical and nursing staff to ensure timely patient flow
Maintain accurate documentation and update patient records in real time
Adhere to hospital policies, HIPAA guidelines, and emergency department protocols
Requirements:
Previous experience in patient access, registration, or hospital front desk preferred
Ability to remain calm, professional, and efficient in high-pressure situations
Strong attention to detail and data entry accuracy
Excellent communication and customer service skills
Basic computer proficiency and comfort working with hospital systems
Flexibility to work shifts, including evenings, weekends, or holidays as needed
