We are delighted to offer an exciting opportunity for a Patent Secretary to join a long established and thriving IP practice. Working alongside a friendly and collaborative team, you will provide high-quality secretarial and administrative support to busy fee earners. This is a varied and fast-paced position where attention to detail and strong organisational skills are key.

Job Responsibility

  • Preparing and issuing invoices
  • Drafting correspondence and legal documents
  • Liaising with clients, agents, and internal teams
  • Maintaining and updating internal records and databases (including Inprotech)
  • Supporting bespoke client requirements, including use of client portals and document management systems
  • Managing multiple deadlines and priorities effectively

Requirements

  • Minimum 12 months’ secretarial experience within a similar environment
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Strong organisational skills with a keen eye for detail
  • Ability to work independently and use initiative
  • A positive, can-do attitude and willingness to learn new systems and processes

Nice to have

Experience with invoicing and/or Inprotech is advantageous
