Job Description:

A nationally recognized law firm in Seattle is hiring a Patent Legal Assistant to add to their existing team. The role supports 3 attorneys and multiple paralegals with Patent Prosecution matters. This role supports both U.S. and foreign patent prosecution matters.

Job Responsibility:

  • Opening new matters
  • Sending out engagement letters and invoices
  • Calendaring and communicating with docketing team
  • Preparing, proofreading and formatting legal documents, reports and communications
  • Navigating intellectual property software, case management software and keeping important documentation organized
  • Communicating updates to clients and retrieving necessary case information
  • Arranging travel, continuing education courses for attorneys and patent agents, maintaining attorney billable time and other executive assistant functions

Requirements:

  • 3+ years of experience as a Legal Assistant
  • significant intellectual property experience an understanding of patent prosecution procedures
  • Experience handling multiple legal softwares and case management systems in a hybrid remote environment
  • Prior experience supporting multiple attorneys
  • Clear, professional, and proactive written and verbal communication skills
