Job Description:

In this role, you will contribute to the company's intellectual property strategy by partnering with engineers and scientists to translate innovative ideas into patent filings and safeguard trade secrets. You will also oversee key projects within the Data and Visibility Program, including the review and management of grant agreements and sponsored research contracts. In addition, you will support the prosecution of patent applications and provide insight into the broader intellectual property and competitive landscape to help inform business decisions.

Job Responsibility:

  • Lead IP generation sessions with Engineers and Scientists of the Company to draft patent disclosures and other IP documents and IP processing
  • Conduct patentability searches
  • Analyze patent office actions and other IP responsibilities
  • Oversee contract compliance of contract terms for grants and sponsored research under the Data and Visibility Program

Requirements:

  • A degree in neuroscience, biomedical engineering, electrical engineering or related field
  • 3+ years of experience working in neuroscience, biomedical engineering, electrical engineering or related field
  • Communication skills to act as a facilitator in IP brainstorming session and patent application drafting
  • Technical writing skills – ability to draft clear, concise technical documents including invention summaries
  • Analytical and organization skills – strong attention to detail and ability to manage multiple projects

Nice to have:

  • Experience with patent application drafting and prosecution
  • MS or PhD in neuroscience, biomedical engineering, electrical engineering or related field
