Four Seasons Hotel and Residences New Orleans is seeking candidates to join our Pastry team as a Pastry Cook. The pastry is an essential member of the Food & Beverage team dedicated to providing exceptional quality and service to our guests. The kitchen presents an endless amount of opportunities of learning and growth for line cook positions of all levels.
Job Responsibility:
Clean and process raw ingredients, preparing mise-en-place and bases for pastry items
Ensure high standards of food hygiene, storage, and kitchen cleanliness
Complete Food Safe Training certification
Prepare consistent, high-quality pastry items per guest orders, following recipe and presentation standards
Set up and maintain workstation for breakfast, lunch, or dinner service, prepping only what is needed
Operate, maintain, and clean kitchen equipment such as fryers, stoves, and mixers
Label, rotate, and store perishables properly, checking stock levels and noting shortages
Minimize food waste, adhering to food cost and usage policies
Communicate with the Pastry Chef, contributing to menu development and recipe creation
Requirements:
Culinary education is strongly preferred but several years of commercial cooking experience may substitute
Previous experience in a pastry kitchen, ideally in a high-volume or fine dining environment
Strong understanding of pastry techniques, including baking, decorating, and plating
Attention to detail, with a commitment to producing high-quality pastries and desserts
Ability to work in a fast-paced environment, managing multiple tasks effectively
Excellent teamwork and communication skills
Eligibility to work in Canada without sponsorship
