The Pastry Cook will play a crucial role in the creation and execution of Marea's pastries. This position requires a strong understanding of pastry techniques, multitasking abilities, and the capacity to thrive in a fast-paced, high-pressure environment. The ideal candidate will have a passion for excellence, attention to detail, and a dedication to upholding Marea’s high standards.
Job Responsibility:
Master a full knowledge of the pastry menu, including ingredients, techniques, and plating presentations
Apply general pastry techniques and principles, including the proper use and understanding of starches, fats, sugars, liquids, eggs, and flavorings
Manage production and organization of the pastry station, ensuring all items are prepared to the highest standards
Produce high-quality desserts while adhering to portion control and recipe consistency
Ensure proper rotation and usage of products to minimize waste and maintain freshness
Maintain professional knowledge of cooking ingredients, techniques, and food safety procedures
Work effectively in both production and service settings, collaborating with the team to ensure a seamless dining experience
Uphold cleanliness, organization, and safety standards within the pastry kitchen
Requirements:
Proven experience in pastry and dessert production, preferably in a fine dining or high-volume kitchen environment
Strong understanding of pastry fundamentals, including baking, pastry doughs, creams, sauces, and plating techniques
Ability to multitask and perform well under pressure in a fast-paced environment
Exceptional organizational skills and attention to detail
Full availability for daytime, evening, and weekend shifts
Successful completion of a drug screening and reference check
